The Chicago Bears have one of the most talked about offenses in the NFL at the dawn of the 2024 season. As such, seemingly every other analyst has at least one or two must-start players on the roster.
However, what about managers looking to separate from the pack and win with style?
The Bears offer a few deep options. Here’s a look at two potential sleepers for the team in 2024.
Gerald Everett, TE
First, there is the backup tight end Gerald Everett. Unlike many tight end rooms that are often loaded with unknowns, the Bears have three noteworthy players. However, Cole Kmet is a pretty obvious worthy addition. The third-string tight end, Marcedes Lewis, is too deep to get any meaningful targets.
Meanwhile, Everett is a veteran starter who earned 555 yards and four touchdowns in 2022 with the Chargers. This isn’t amazing by wide receiver or running back standards, but as a backup tight end on a fantasy roster, one could do worse. If anything happens to Kmet, managers also would be given a veteran tight end that can handle a workload.
Nsimba Webster, WR
Nsimba Webster might not make the Bears’ final roster, but if he does, it doesn’t get much deeper of a sleeper than this. Assuming managers wait to do the draft after the final cutdown day and Webster did make the roster, he could find himself on an upward trajectory. Webster has been in the NFL since 2019, but his history is the true selling point.
Webster comes from the same college as Cooper Kupp. With Kupp gone, Webster stepped into the same role and put on a star performance. Throughout his college career, his production steadily improved before peaking in his final season with 1379 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2018, per Eastern Washington University records. Webster could have shrunk in Kupp’s shadow, but he instead elevated.
As such, a manager desperate for the darkest of shots could use their final roster spot on Webster, if nothing else but to flex their football knowledge for the former FCS star.
Of course, Webster has a long ladder to climb in a stacked wide receiver room. However, if he gets in and any injuries hit at the top, it will only give Webster a greater opportunity to perform.
