2 Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Football Sleepers For 2024

The Seattle Seahawks are a team stuck between a rock and a hard place. They are attempting to rebuild at head coach, but also have not indicated that they are all in on Geno Smith. This year will prove a lot for the quarterback, but the team has other players with much more reason to believe in.

However, Tyler Lockett, DK Metcalf, and Kenneth Walker III are the obvious players to choose from. What about the less obvious selections?

Here’s a look at two Seahawks players worth thinking long and hard about for Fantasy Football.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR

Jaxon Smith-Njigba earned just 628 yards and four touchdowns last year. However, that was his rookie outing. This year, expectations are much higher for the young receiver. Lockett is tip-toeing his way into his 30s. This makes it only a matter of time until he slips into the third spot on the depth chart. When that happens, Smith-Njigba will be in line to take over as the No. 2 receiver.

Metcalf will see plenty of double-teams this season. As such, Smith could target the second receiver much more. If Smith-Njigba gets elevated and thus gets the rock much more, managers will essentially have gotten the No. 2 receiver of the Seahawks for the price of a No. 3. If Metcalf struggles to deliver against double teams, there could be an argument that managers got the best fantasy receiver on the team.

It goes without saying that moves like this are how championship rosters are made. Turning a would-be bubble flex player like Smith-Njigba into a starting WR1 on a fantasy team while also picking up a conventional WR1 could make things simply unfair on the rest of the league.

A few pieces need to slide into place and Smtih needs to deliver through the air. That said, there is potential for massive dividends.

Noah Fant, TE

Noah Fant came over to Seattle in the infamous trade for Russell Wilson. While Denver undoubtedly used Fant better than the Seahawks have, that doesn’t mean Fant’s days as a usable player are over.

With Pete Carroll gone and Mike Macdonald in his place, there is a chance that the former Ravens coordinator will know how to unlock greater potential with Fant.

The Ravens have produced Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely, so there’s a chance that Fant could be in for a big year. Fant was chosen for his unconventionally fast speed, so he has the foundation to be a weapon as a receiving tight end. Also, at 26 years old, injuries or concerns about him losing a step this season are a non-factor.

Fant’s best season was in 2021 when he earned 670 yards and four touchdowns. If Macdonald is able to elevate his game, this could be Fant’s floor this season with the Seattle Seahawks.
