With the rich history that the Green Bay Packers bring to the NFL, the NFC North franchise is one of the most beloved teams in the league even for the neutral fans.

With that said, every season for the Packers starts out with the hope that this will be the year they make it back to the Super Bowl.

Nevertheless, Green Bay has always been in contention and has had several deep postseason runs. But with the new season just a couple of months away, we now take a look at some bold predictions for the Packers’ 2024 season.

Jordan Love has an MVP-caliber season in 2024

With the departure of Aaron Rodgers last season, there were many questions regarding how the offense would shape up with Jordan Love under center. After seeing him in action as the full-season starter in 2023-24, Love will establish himself as the franchise quarterback for years to come.

Despite being under continuous scrutiny and with heavy expectations on his shoulders, Love has shown his ability to focus on his game and let his play do the talking. In his second season as the leader of the Packers’ offense, Love will be in the race for the NFL MVP Award as he puts up numbers of over 4,000 passing yards, and 30-plus passing touchdowns while keeping his interception count in single digits.

Green Bay Packers clinch the NFC North

The NFC North is a tremendous division with big rivalries having developed over the years. Green Bay has for the most part dominated this division ever since the divisions were realigned in 2002.

However, they will be facing stiff competition from the Chicago Bears who have not only improved their offense but have also drafted Caleb Williams with their number one pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. And while the Vikings are now in the rebuilding phase, it is the Detroit Lions who will pose the most problems for the Packers for the divisional crown in 2024.

The Lions are coming off a historic season wherein they not only reached the NFC Championship game last year but are also extra motivated to make their first-ever Super Bowl. Yet, when all is said and done at the end of the regular season, Green Bay will have managed to regain the top spot in the NFC North.

Green Bay Packers defense takes a big step forward

The Green Bay Packers have been struggling with their defense over the past few seasons. The major concern has been the secondary which is allowing easy first-downs and not pressing enough thus allowing for simple completions for the opposition.

Green Bay has, however, made a change with their defensive coordinator as Jeff Hafley will be taking charge on that side of the ball. Hafley is known to have his secondary press much more which is exactly what the Packers are looking for.

Furthermore, defense end Lukas Van Ness is expected to take a big step forward as he enters year two of his professional career.

Wide receiving core makes a statement

The Packers’ wide receiving core may not consist of the really big names that other teams boast of. Their wide receiver core is one of the youngest and cheapest ones in the league, so experience at the professional level is not on their side.

Having said that, Green Bay has literally 4-5 wide receivers who can challenge for the WR1 position. At the top of the charts though, Christian Watkins and Romeo Doubs will be the go-to guys for Jordan Love and this year the Packers’ offense is expected to click provided they can stay healthy enough.

Josh Jacobs is a worthy replacement for Aaron Jones

Losing Aaron Jones in this off-season is a big pill to swallow for the Packers. Jones played for Green Bay for seven seasons and had three seasons with over 1,000 rushing yards. But, the good news is Green Bay found a replacement for him in a younger Josh Jacobs who himself has been a standout rusher for the Las Vegas Raiders.

For everything Jones brought to the table at Green Bay, Jacobs will outdo him and the Packers offense will see a more dynamic running game in 2024. As a matter of fact, Jacobs has slightly more rushing touchdowns and nearly as many rushing yards as Jones despite having played 24 fewer games.
