Longtime Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is an exciting player to watch. As a tight end, he excels in all areas of concern from blocking for his teammates to getting open for Mahomes to feed him the ball. The highly talented player knows how to bring in the crowd whether it is on the field or off the field.
Kelce is famous for his touchdown celebrations and antics during games as well as his off-field activities such as featuring in many commercials, attending tours of his girlfriend Taylor Swift, to even appearing on TV.

Kelce Bowl
Travis Kelce and his older brother Jason were part of history when they became the first set of brothers to play in the same Super Bowl as opponents. Super Bowl LVII which took place in State Farm Stadium, Glendale, Arizona on February 12, 2023, featured Travis Kelce and the Chiefs taking on the Philadelphia Eagles for whom his brother played the center position.
Due to this being the first ever incident and as both Kelce brothers are famous in their own right, the term ‘Kelce Bowl’ quickly caught on. In the end, the Chiefs prevailed by a score of 38-35 in a close game.
Travis Kelce’s Jersey Number Significance
Kelce wears the No. 87 jersey. This jersey has a lot of importance to him simply because 1987 was the year his older brother Jason was born. The two brothers share a very deep bond which is easily reflected through their support for one another.
According to Travis, his brother was the guiding force and the one who helped him get his life back on track when he was going through a torrid time in college after failing a drug test. Over the years, Jason was like a father figure to Travis.
Both brothers maintain a great relationship and, while Travis is able to wear the No. 87 jersey, prior to retirement Jason was not able to wear Travis’ birth year 89 jersey due to the NFL’s rules regarding the numbers available for each position.
New Heights Podcast
Brothers Travis and Jason Kelce started a podcast in September 2022 called ‘New Heights’ and it has really kicked off with 2.42M subscribers on YouTube. In the podcast, the brothers talk about all kinds of stuff be it football or non-football-related events.
At times they even have some family members appear as guests for episodes. For example, both of their parents, mother Donna Kelce, and father Ed Kelce have appeared from time to time as well as Jason’s wife Kylie has also made appearances along with Jason’s daughters.
According to Jason, this podcast has helped them remain in touch with each other more than ever.
Travis Kelce starred in a reality TV show
One of the most interesting and unique things Travis Kelce has done in his life is without a doubt starring in his own reality TV show. The name of the show was ‘Catching Kelce’ and it aired in October 2016.
The show went on for about a month with seven episodes. Catching Kelce was a unique opportunity for women from all 50 states to date an NFL star. The show followed Kelce in his quest to find love from the pool of women.
He hosted Saturday Night Live
One proud honor Travis Kelce received was the chance to host an episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL) on March 4th, 2023. His performance was widely praised by both fans and critics. He was even compared to Peyton Manning who is generally known as one of the funniest sports celebrities on TV.
