Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals are looking to take a major step in the right direction this season after making a major splash with the fourth pick in the 2024 NFL draft by taking Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Cardinals are hoping they found their next star wideout following the departure of DeAndre Hopkins and the retirement of Larry Fitzgerald.

It appears that the offense is ready to take that next step this season. At least that’s what Murray believes.

While speaking to the local media, Murray discussed how he believes the addition of Harrison will improve the offense.

“I think it takes us to another level,” Murray said, via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. “I fully expect our offense to be top of the league.”

Those are some lofty expectations placed on the shoulder pads of the rookie wide receiver, but Harrison definitely lived up to the hype with the Buckeyes.

Last season, Harrison put a period at the end of his collegiate career with 67 receptions for 1,211 yards (18.1 yards per catch) and 14 receiving touchdowns despite suffering an injury.

This Cardinals offense has added a lot of young talent, and the team seems ready to make that jump for the 2024 season.

What should we expect out of the Arizona Cardinals in the 2024 season?

The Cardinals were not a good team last season. They were just 1-8 before Murray returned from his torn ACL and finished the year 4-13.

However, Arizona was able to add Harrison out wide to become the team’s top receiving threat and drafted running back Trey Benson to get snaps with James Conner in the backfield. Plus, the Cards boast a pair of impressive tight ends in Trey McBride and rookie Tip Reiman.

This offense is going to revolve around how Murray does under center, and if his 2023 season is any indication, the league should be prepared for a lot of excitement. To say the Cardinals were bereft of talent last year would be an understatement, but in Murray’s eight games, he totaled 13 touchdowns and five turnovers.

With the new additions to the offense and the chance for Kyler Murray to improve in his sixth season in the NFL, creating a connection with Harrison will be paramount for this Cardinals offense to continue moving in the right direction.
