As a 2024 NFL Draft prospect who’s shown the ability to be a multi-faceted athlete, Keon Coleman is not ready to join a scramble on the golf course with the Buffalo Bills QB1, Josh Allen.

Most players who enter the NFL have a background of playing multiple sports, and for Coleman, his focus was mostly split between football and basketball. Eventually, Coleman chose football, landing in the NFL with one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

As a self-proclaimed fan of golf, Coleman’s more of a Topgolf golfer than an actual golfer. Capable of driving the ball to the back wall at Topgolf, Coleman’s long game is where he thrives.

However, in an interview with CBS Sports’ Bryant McFadden, the rookie receiver explained his reasoning for avoiding the fairway with his new quarterback.

While Coleman’s game is more revolved around how far he can drive the ball, he’s not sure his game is ready to evolve into the real thing. He can drive the ball enough to get to the green, but his game returns to reality once he gets to the green.

Allen has appeared in multiple golf events, often coming in as one of the better golfers in the group.

Most recently, the Bills signal-caller showcased his skills on the course, sinking a chip-in shot for birdie at the American Century Championship. And although Keon Coleman usually wears his confidence on his sleeves, the confidence goes down once golf is introduced around Josh Allen.

I ain’t golfing with you. We can’t bond over that. We gotta go throw rocks at the lake or something. You golfin’ golfing

However, it’s probably best that he and Allen are on the same page on the football field rather than the golf course.

The Bills are entering a pivotal season after retooling their roster on both sides of the ball. Buffalo lost Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis, Jordan Poyer, and Tre’Davious White, among others, this offseason.

With the addition of Keon Coleman in the 2024 NFL Draft, general manager Brandon Beane cares more about the team’s chemistry on the football field than on the golf course.
