Buffalo Bills’ Offensive Star Doesn’t Hold Back On QB Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is preparing for what should be one of the most challenging seasons of his NFL career.

The Bills lost their top two wide receivers in Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this offseason, which has created an interesting situation on Buffalo’s depth chart.

The Bills did sign Curtis Samuel in free agency, and it selected Keon Coleman in the second round of the NFL Draft.

Still, there is a lot of uncertainty at the position, which has some wondering how Allen will manage in 2024.

Well, Buffalo’s Pro Bowl offensive lineman Dion Dawkins says that Allen appears more focused than ever.

“Josh is one of those guys that will do what it takes at that moment,” Dawkins said during an appearance on The Herd. “He’s definitely a barker when that time comes. I’ve actually seen the bark a lot more this OTAs where he’s been very, very verbal, because our team is different. It’s different. We’ve got some young dudes that, when they come in, they see a little bit of success, and they can change, so Josh is doing exactly what he should.”

We’ll see if that barking translates into on-field success this coming season.

Josh Allen needs to be better going forward

Allen wasn’t great in 2023.

The two-time Pro Bowler turned the ball over 22 times last season, which was the second-worst mark in the league behind Sam Howell.

He threw for 4,306 yards, 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions while completing 66.5 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 92.2.

Compare that to the previous campaign, when Allen totaled 35 passing touchdowns and 14 picks while registering a 96.6 passer rating, and you’ll see that the University of Wyoming product took a step back in last season. And that was with Diggs and Davis in tow.

What is Allen going to do without those two?

Perhaps Allen will rise to the occasion, knowing that even more of the onus is on him come September. Or, maybe he will trudge through one of the worst years of his career.

Whatever the case may be, there is no doubt that the Bills’ run of four straight AFC East division titles is hanging in the balance heading into 2024.

It’s up to Josh Allen to ensure that Buffalo maintains its dominance.
