Buffalo Bills Tight Ends Sends Warning About Offense To NFL

The Buffalo Bills lost some key offensive pieces this offseason, particularly in their receiving corps. Gabe Davis departed via free agency, and Stefon Diggs was traded.

The subtractions of those two wide out has many wondering where the Bills’ passing offense is going to come from in 2024, but tight end Dalton Kincaid doesn’t seem concerned.

Kincaid became one of Josh Allen’s favorite targets last season, and he seems to think Buffalo has more than enough offensive to succeed come September.

“I wouldn’t say I’m the guy. I think we have quite a bit of weapons on offense,” Kincaid said, via the Bills’ official YouTube account. “You know, we’re going to open everybody up, and with Josh back there, he’s going to get everybody the ball. I think definitely a couple more targets this year, which will be nice.”

The Bills selected Kincaid in the first round of the NFL Draft last spring. He played in 16 games during his rookie campaign, hauling in 73 receptions for 673 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

Only Diggs had more catches than Kincaid in 2023, so with Diggs now elsewhere, Kincaid may certainly see an uptick in targets.

Who Will Be the Bills’ No. 1 Receiver?

We know the Bills are set at tight end. Kincaid looks like a stud, and Dawson Knox is no slouch, either.

But who will replace Diggs and Davis at the top of the receiving corps?

Buffalo has one key holdover from last year in Khalil Shakir, but he is more of a slot receiver than a No. 1 guy. The Bills did sign Curtis Samuel and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in free agency, and they took Keon Coleman in the second round of the draft.

Long term, Buffalo probably views Coleman as the guy. At 6-foot-3, he certainly has the physical profile of a No. 1 receiver, and he is coming off of a solid season at Florida State.

However, it may be difficult for Coleman to take the No. 1 job right out of the gate.

Allen may have to run a “receiver-by-committee” sort of offense early on, spreading the ball around to Shakir, Samuel, Coleman and whoever is open.

It will certainly represent a stark change from the past several years, when Allen knew that Diggs and Davis would be his top two wide outs every week.
