Either with the Cincinnati Bengals or with another team, wide receiver Tee Higgins will receive a massive contract after the 2024 season.

Tee Higgins has performed well since joining the NFL in 2020, but the Bengals have not been able to come to a contract agreement with him. Currently playing on the franchise tag, the wideout appears to have accepted that he will still be with the team in 2024 even though he had asked to be traded before.

However, if Higgins doesn’t agree to a long-term contract with the Bengals before the end of the season, which doesn’t seem very probable, he will hit the open market.

In a new development, Higgins has declared his desire to remain with the Bengals. The former Clemson standout stated clearly that he would like to continue playing for the Bengals in an interview on the I Am Athlete podcast.

“As far as coming back, I would love to come back. I grew as a man in the past four years with this team. Grew as a player and got good new friendships. I also have great relationships with people in the City of Cincinnati, and the fans are great. So I would definitely love to be here,” Higgins said.

The 25-year-old receiver added that he understands he would not be sticking with the Bengals if he is unable to reach an agreement.

Higgins went on, “If that’s not the situation, then that’s not the situation.”

Tee Higgins was selected by Cincinnati with the 33rd overall pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He has since played a significant role in a team that has won an AFC Championship and two AFC North titles. He also assisted Cincinnati in advancing to consecutive AFC Championship Games in 2021 and 2022. Thus far in his NFL career, Higgins has racked up 257 catches for 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns in 58 games.

How Much Will Tee Higgins Earn On The Franchise Tag In 2024?

Since Tee Higgins and the Cincinnati Bengals haven’t reached a new contract agreement, trade rumors about him continue to circulate.

With the highly-rated receiver under the Bengals’ franchise tag, he would be guaranteed $21.8 million for the 2024 season. He expressed dissatisfaction with his contract situation and asked to be traded from the organization, but he has since changed his mind and stated he still plans to play for Cincinnati in 2024.

Higgins had consecutive seasons with 74 catches in 2021 and 2022 prior to battling injuries in last season. He also recorded consecutive campaigns with 1,000 yards in that span.
