Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has not shown up to mandatory minicamp due to a contract dispute, but edge rusher Micah Parsons doesn’t seem to think that will last.

When asked about Lamb’s status this week, Parsons said he expects the star pass-catcher to get paid.

“CeeDee about to hit the brink truck. He about to get his,” Parsons said, via Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News. “But I can’t think of someone more deserving. I think CeeDee is the best receiver in the league. If you ever want to argue it, top three, but in my eyes, seeing his mindset and how he comes every day, I think he deserves every penny.”

Parsons himself became eligible for a contract extension this offseason, but the Cowboys are prioritizing Lamb, who is preparing to enter the final year of his deal.

Dallas also has to worry about quarterback Dak Prescott, who also has just one year left on his contract.

Pretty soon, Parsons will get handsomely compensated, as well. It just might not be this offseason.

How Much Will CeeDee Lamb Get?

Tons of wide receivers have landed massive contract extensions this offseason, but none but one of them are quite on Lamb’s level.

The only wide out in that conversation who is clearly better than Lamb (or at least more statistically productive) is Justin Jefferson, who just inked a monstrous four-year, $140 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings. That made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

That’s also $35 million annually for Jefferson. The next most expensive receiver is Philadelphia Eagles star A.J. Brown, who signed a three-year, $96 million extension earlier this offseason.

So, Lamb can probably expect to land somewhere in the middle of $32-35 million per year. He may very well come in just under Jefferson at around $34 million annually.

And you know what? He would deserve it.

The 25-year-old is coming off of a fantastic 2023 campaign in which he led the NFL with 135 receptions to go along with 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Not only did he make his third straight trip to the Pro Bowl, but he also earned a First-Team All-Pro selection.

Lamb, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was selected by the Cowboys with the 17th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

After a strong rookie season where he caught 74 passes for 935 yards and five scores, Lamb made his first Pro Bowl in 2021 after snaring 79 balls for 1,102 yards while reaching the end zone six times. He continued to progress in 2022, registering 107 catches for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns.

Lamb has gotten better every year, and Micah Parsons clearly understands his value to Dallas.

The Cowboys will almost surely get something done with CeeDee Lamb soon.
