As the New York Jets prepare for the New England Patriots in Week 3, will Zach Wilson bounce back?

One of the biggest games on the schedule this week in the NFL is the New York Jets facing off against the New England Patriots. The Patriots coming into Week 3 are 0-2 with two close losses to the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles.

Both the Dolphins and the Eagles are poised to be playoff teams this year as long as they can stay healthy, and the Patriots played them both very well. Due to the Patriots having their backs against the wall at 0-2, we will likely be seeing a highly motivated team trying to avoid a disastrous 0-3 start.

For the Jets, things didn’t go well, to say the least for them against the Cowboys. On both sides of the ball, the Jets didn’t play well. Coming off such an emotional week likely didn’t help, and neither did traveling for a road game on a short week. With that being said, the stakes are going to be high in Week 3.

As the Jets prepare for what feels like a do-or-die game, all eyes will be on Zach Wilson. So far this season, Wilson has totaled 310 passing, two passing touchdowns, and four interceptions. None of those numbers will make a Jets fan feel good, as with every passing game, it feels like Wilson is being confirmed to be a bust.

Against the Patriots, things are not going to be easy for Wilson to bounce back either. In four career games against the Patriots, Wilson has a 0-4 record, 693 passing yards, two touchdown passes, and seven interceptions.

The Patriots have owned the Jets for quite some time now and that includes Wilson over the past two seasons. Even though the Jets have a great running game and some weapons at skill positions, Bill Belichick will likely force Wilson to beat his defense.

Unfortunately for the Jets, Wilson hasn’t had much success against the Patriots, and coming into this game, there isn’t much of a reason to believe he will this time around. Even though the game is at home for the Jets, the Patriots are favored and from what we’ve seen so far this season, that’s the right call.

After the final whistle is blown, it will be interesting to see where these two rivals stand.
