Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is only 28 years old, but already, some are starting to compare him to future Hall of Famer Tom Brady.

Mahomes could retire today and be considered one of the best of all time, but how can he surpass Brady?

Former Washington Commanders quarterback Robert Griffin III believes that Mahomes’ only requirement to pass the former sixth-round pick is to win three straight Super Bowls.

“If he (Mahomes) can win three in a row, he will surpass Tom Brady and be the greatest quarterback ever,” Griffin said.

The good news for Mahomes is that it means he isn’t all that far away.

The Chiefs have won the last two Super Bowls, and if they are able to win this upcoming February, at least in RG3’s eyes, Mahomes will be crowned the best over. For all that Brady was able to do during his career, he never was able to win three straight Super Bowls.

Brady was recently asked about Mahomes’ chances at winning his third straight, and he believes it’s going to be quite the challenge.

“To win a Super Bowl is extremely challenging, as we know,” Brady told Cowherd. “Even when you look at the way the Chiefs won the Super Bowl last year against the 49ers, it was an incredible comeback, so to speak. They played really well at the end. The margin for error was razor thin and that’s the way it’s going to be this year for them as well.”

At halftime of the Super Bowl, the Chiefs were down 10-3, and it looked like they were in trouble. Mahomes turned on the burners in the second half, and the Chiefs indeed won 25-22 in overtime.

Mahomes completed 34 of his 46 passes for 333 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Mahomes has already won three Super Bowls, and even if he never leads the Chiefs to three straight Super Bowls, he could still end up being the GOAT of quarterbacks.

There is no reason that Patrick Mahomes couldn’t end his career with seven or eight Super Bowl wins, and the way the Chiefs offense operates with him under center is special. No matter how many Super Bowl wins, there will always be an argument about the greatest of all time, but Mahomes, at this point, has at least put himself in the conversation to be considered among the greats.
