The Green Bay Packers saw the ups and downs of having a young quarterback in Jordan Love during the 2023 NFL season after officially moving on from Aaron Rodgers during the offseason. He spent three years behind Rodgers before getting his first chance at being the starting quarterback for the Packers.
While appearing on The Carton Show” former Super Bowl-winning wide receiver Plaxico Burress declared that Jordan Love is an MVP-caliber quarterback.
Love struggled in the first 10 weeks last season as he finished with 14 touchdowns to 10 interceptions. He really turned the corner from Week 11 through the remainder of the season, as he had 18 touchdowns to one interception.
From Week 11 through the end of the year, the Green Bay Packers were also able to finish 6-2 to secure a spot in the postseason.
Love did not slow down in the Wild Card Round against the Dallas Cowboys, as he went 16-for-21 with 272 yards and three touchdowns.
What are the odds for Jordan Love to win the 2024 NFL MVP?
It is not just Plaxico Burress who is under the belief that Jordan Love can win an NFL MVP Award.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, Love is tied with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy for the fifth-best odds (+1400). He really stepped up last season and should be able to improve in his second season as a starting quarterback.
The Green Bay Packers are one of the top teams in the entire NFC so they should be even better. The team added offensive lineman Jordan Morgan and running back MarShawn Lloyd during the 2024 NFL Draft, while also adding running back Josh Jacobs to really help the offense dominate.
If the Packers can continue to improve offensively, the numbers for Jordan Love are going to be even better in 2024.
Last season, the team finished 12th in passing yards (233.4), 15th in rushing yards (112.1) and points scored (22.5). With Love having some more experience under his belt and a tougher NFC North, this could be difficult.
The team has a difficult schedule and that could be used as an advantage for Jordan Love’s MVP case if he is able to put up numbers to show some improvement. It will be interesting to see if Love is able to continue that second-half stretch of last season or if that as just a hot stretch for the Utah State product.
