Packers Urged To Pull Off Major Wide Receiver Trade

The Green Bay Packers are entering Week 7 NFL action with a disappointing 2-3 record. They have been respectable, but it’s clear they could use some more talent.

In particular, the Packers could stand to add some more weapons for quarterback Jordan Love.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Ballentine feels that Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise Brown could be the answer.

While Green Bay has a nice stable of young receivers with potential, it does not have a true No. 1 at the moment. Yes, Christian Watson is back after missing the first three weeks, but he is a relatively unproven commodity.

Brown could step in and immediately become the Packers’ No. 1 wide out and would provide Love with a very dangerous deep threat.

The Cardinals fell to 1-5 after their Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, so they will all but surely be sellers between now and the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline. With Brown in the final year of his deal, he is a prime candidate to be moved in the coming weeks.

Through six games this season, the 26-year-old has logged 29 catches for 334 yards and three touchdowns.

While those numbers aren’t incredibly impressive, keep in mind that Brown is playing in a passing offense that ranks 29th in the NFL with Josh Dobbs under center.

The five-year veteran has shown the capability to be a top receiver in the past, as he hauled in 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and six scores with the Baltimore Ravens in 2021.

Love has a big arm, so you could certainly imagine the tantalizing connection between him and Brown, who seems like someone who has not yet realized his ceiling due to circumstances beyond his control.

Brown was originally selected by the Ravens with the 26th overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft.
