Here’s Why Kyler Murray Thinks Cardinals Will Be On Another Level

The last couple of years have not been kind to Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray.

During the back half of the 2022 NFL campaign, Murray suffered a torn ACL, ending his season after 11 games. He also wasn’t playing particularly well before the injury, and it came after he signed a massive contract extension with the Cardinals shortly before the year began.

As a result, many were wondering if the new deal was a mistake.

Murray was unable to fully participate in Arizona’s offseason last year due to his recovery period, and he also missed the first half of the 2023 season.

But once Murray got back on to the field last November, he began to exhibit flashes of what made him a two-time Pro Bowler. In eight games, he threw for 1,799 yards, 10 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 65.7 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 89.4. He also rushed for 244 yards and three scores.

Not bad for a guy coming off of a major injury.

Will things get better for Kyler Murray and the Cardinals in 2024?

Now, Murray is looking toward 2024, and he is amped that he has rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. in tow.

As a matter of fact, Murray thinks Harrison will allow the Cardinals to reach new heights.

“I think that takes us to another level,” Murray said, via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. “When you got a guy out there that is capable of winning one-on-ones, obviously he’s got to go do it and he knows that. We all know it, but as far as manipulating coverage and stuff like that, you got a guy out there that can do that and even if he’s not open, he’s open.”

Arizona took Harrison with the fourth overall pick of the NFL Draft in April. The Ohio State product hauled in 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns last season and has been labeled as a generational talent by many.

“I’m excited to be able to build that with him, but when he does what he does, yeah, I fully expect our offense to be top of the league,” added Murray.

The Murray era has been disappointing in the desert thus far, as the Cards have made just one playoff appearance since drafting him in 2019.

But if Harrison is able to live up to his billing, Kyler Murray and the Cardinals could end up becoming an offensive powerhouse in the time to come.
