Jacksonville Jaguars Fans Will Love This Trevor Lawrence Take

The hype around Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars has fallen off considerably during the 2024 NFL offseason. All of the focus now is on the upstart Houston Texans, whom many believe will run away with the AFC South for a second straight season.

But, the Jaguars are going to present them with a challenge. Last season, the only thing that really kept them from being the division winners was too many injuries to overcome, one of which was to Lawrence.

Before the injuries mounted, Jacksonville was 8-3 coming off a 24-21 victory over the Texans on the road. But, they would lose four out of their next five games and miss the postseason all together.

Coming into the 2024 campaign, Lawrence will be surrounded by a strong supporting cast. Wide receiver Calvin Ridley left in free agency, signing with the Tennessee Titans, but there is plenty of talent remaining.

Gabe Davis was signed in free agency and a first-round pick was used on LSU star Brian Thomas Jr. They are joining Christian Kirk atop the wide receiver depth chart with Evan Engram and tight end and Travis Etienne at running back.

That amount of talent is one of the reasons that Nathan Jahnke of PFF believes that Lawrence will be one of the breakout quarterbacks in the NFL for the 2024 season.

“Lawrence is about to turn 25 years old early in the season, so he’s at a point where we expect quarterbacks to begin their peak. Mix that with an improved offense, and he should be one of the best options when looking for a high-end backup quarterback for fantasy purposes,” Jahnke wrote.

Slow starts have plagued Lawrence throughout his NFL career. Over the last two seasons, he has seen vast improvements after the first month or so of the regular season in his overall performance and in the world of Fantasy Football.

Right now, Lawrence’s average draft position is the eighth pick in the 10th round. He isn’t being selected among the top tier or two of quarterbacks but has shown he is capable of playing up to that level.

Managers who wait on the quarterback position in their Fantasy Football drafts could be rewarded handsomely by snagging Trevor Lawrence later on. He has QB1 upside, providing a lot of value with his current ADP.
