Chiefs Trade For Intriguing Vikings’ Receiver In Proposal

The Kansas City Chiefs may be 5-1, but it is blatantly obvious that issues exist with this team. Surprisingly, most of those issues are on the offensive end.

The Chiefs are in clear need of help in their receiving corps, and Kevin Parizi of FanSided sees a potential solution for the club: Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn.

While Osborn is not a No. 1 guy, he has been a productive wide out since his second season in the NFL in 2021. That season, he caught 50 passes for 655 yards and seven touchdowns, and last year, he hauled in 60 receptions for 650 yards and five scores.

Osborn has enjoyed similar success through the first six weeks of 2023, logging 17 catches for 217 yards while reaching the end zone twice.

Elite numbers? Hardly, but Osborn would still certainly bolster a Kansas City receiving corps that has struggled to get much of anything going this far this season.

The Chiefs could trade a 2024 fourth-round draft pick and a seventh-rounder to the Vikings in exchange for Osborn.

Osborn will be a free agent at the end of the season, so if Minnesota trades him now, it would at least recoup some value for him before possibly losing him for nothing come springtime. The Vikings also seem likely to enter rebuilding mode, so adding a couple of draft picks would be nice.

Meanwhile, Kansas City would land a much-needed weapon for Patrick Mahomes, who currently sports his lowest passer rating (95.7) since he became a starter in 2018.

The only time the Chiefs have eclipsed 30 points in any single game this season came when they blew out the Chicago Bears by a score of 41-10 in Week 3. Otherwise, they are averaging just 21.2 points per game.

It’s apparent that Kansas City needs another piece in its aerial attack, and Osborn would provide that for Mahomes and Co.
