Miami Dolphins’ Key Playmaker Lands Ominous Take For 2024

The Miami Dolphins have arguably the most explosive offensive unit in the NFL. That means they are a team that Fantasy Football managers are going to target early and often in their respective drafts.

You can’t go wrong with having Tyreek Hill as your WR1 on the roster. Jaylen Waddle has shown an ability to produce at a high clip as well even as the Dolphins’ No. 2 target at the position. Should anything happen to Hill, Waddle would ascend to WR1 status.

With those two leading the way, Miami now has a third receiver they are hoping can take advantage of one-on-ones in Odell Beckham Jr. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa should once again be very valuable in Fantasy Football as a quarterback that is somewhat overlooked.

However, there are some players that you may want to avoid in your drafts this year. Running back De’Von Achane has been incredible when he has been on the field. Playing in only 11 games as a rookie, he had 997 total yards with 11 touchdowns scored.

It is easy to see why so many managers are excited about his outlook in 2024 and beyond. But, Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report warns that the value may not be there for the Miami Dolphins running back.

Knox highlighted Achane as a bust candidate in the 2024 season and someone who should be avoided in Fantasy Football drafts. With an average draft position bordering on a top 10 running back, there are a lot of risks involved with selecting him that high.

“There are a few reasons why this is too high for managers to gamble on Achane. For one, his injury history is concerning, as he missed multiple games last season. Secondly, the Dolphins have other options at running back, including Raheem Mostert and rookie Jaylen Wright—who looked like a star in the making during his preseason debut,” Knox wrote.

Achane’s numbers look good from 2023, but consistency was lacking. He was a true boom-or-bust kind of player, which will present managers with a weekly headache, especially for someone drafted so high.

His workload was inconsistent, as he recorded double-digit carries in only five out of his 11 appearances as a rookie. With Jaylen Wright in the mix now and Raheem Mostert healthy, a potential three-headed committee is a worst-cast scenario for Fantasy Football managers.

If you are going to invest a top pick into a player, you want him to have a solid base to work with. The Miami Dolphins, as currently constructed, don’t provide that for Achane, who would be a very risky pick in the first three rounds of drafts.
