The Michigan Wolverines are still fresh off of a National Championship last season, as well as losing head coach Jim Harbaugh to the NFL. However, they continue finding ways to land elite talent.

As of right now, On3 has the Wolverines listed as the No. 11 overall recruiting class in the nation for 2025.

On Tuesday, they added another talented piece to that class. The addition was four-star tight end Andrew Olesh.

Hailing from Center Valley, Pennsylvania, the talented tight end chose Michigan over plenty of other elite offers. Alabama, Florida State, and Penn State were just a few of the other teams interested in him.

Following his decision to commit to Michigan, Olesh spoke out about his decision and revealed his reasoning.

Michigan Wolverines New Commit Andrew Olesh Speaks Out About Decision

“One of the main reasons why I chose Michigan is because of coach Casula – who is a great coach – coach Moore and coach Kirk Campbell, the offensive coordinator. They’re all great guys I’ve built relationships with. The path to playing time at Michigan caught my attention as well… I like the environment there and being around the players. Going into my OVs, I wanted to be around the players and experience a school’s environment. Talking to all the guys at Michigan got me more into Michigan.”

Olesh also spoke out about Sherrone Moore, Michigan’s new head coach, and revealed high confidence in his ability to keep the program at the top.

“I think he can carry the torch. I think he can keep going because last year, he had to step in and he got the job done. As a coach, he’s going to continue to win games.”

Needless to say, this is a big addition for Michigan football. Olesh will give them another big weapon, standing in at 6-foot-5 and 215 pounds.

If they want to continue being National Championship contenders, the offense will need to be able to score points. Michigan lost a lot of offensive star power in J.J. McCarthy and Blake Corum, among others.

Olesh will come in during the 2025 season and look to earn playing time early on. He has big-time potential to be a key player for the Wolverines for years to come.
