As Fantasy Football owners start their research for the 2024 season, New York Jets wide receiver Mike Williams recently was named a potential steal.

In what has been a busy offseason for the Jets, the team knew that they had some major adjustments to make after seeing what the team looked like without Aaron Rodgers on offense. While having Rodgers on the field likely would have made things better, the 2023 Jets were not a Super Bowl-caliber offense.

This offseason, the Jets made a few moves to help improve the wide receiver corps. One of those moves was the signing of Mike Williams from the Los Angeles Chargers. As the Chargers looked to retool or rebuild with Jim Harbaugh, they released Williams after he missed most of 2023 season with a torn ACL.

While the injury will be a concern for Williams, he has had a couple of 1,000-yard seasons in the NFL and is still on the right side of 30 years old as of now.

Recently, Bleacher Report named him the biggest value pick on the Jets for the upcoming fantasy football season.

Here’s what they had to say.

WR Mike Williams (ADP: WR60)

Injuries are a perennial concern with Williams, who missed almost all the 2023 campaign with an ACL tear. But as recently as 2022, Williams was a top-25 wide receiver in terms of PPR points per game, and playing opposite Garrett Wilson should mean lots of single coverage. He’s a steal at this modest ADP if he can stay healthy.

Mike Williams should be a major factor in the Jets’ offense

Even though Williams is coming off a major injury, he is a player that has showed some good durability otherwise in the NFL since he was drafted seventh overall in 2017. From a production side of things, Williams and Keenan Allen were a very solid duo at wide receiver for years with the Chargers.

During the 2022 season, Williams played in 13 games and totaled nearly 1,000 yards, which provided fantasy owners with some good production.

As Williams comes to the Jets, he isn’t going to be asked to be a focal point of the offense, as the team has Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall. However, when the double teams come to Wilson, Rodgers is going to be relying on Williams to beat single coverage. Also, as a tall wide receiver, Williams will likely be a favorite target of Rodgers, who loves throwing fades and jump balls in single coverage when in the red zone.

As the 60th wide receiver drafted on average, a healthy Williams should provide value in the late rounds for fantasy owners.
