Before Aaron Rodgers was traded to the to the New York Jets last year, hespent 18 years with the Green Bay Packers. Most people agree that the seasoned quarterback is among the best to have ever played in the NFL. He is also regarded as one of the most decorated QBs, considering he has won four NFL MVP awards.

That is the second-most by anybody in history, with just one fewer than Peyton Manning’s 5 MVPs.

Rodgers was carted off the field in the opening game of the 2023 season with a left Achilles injury, bringing an early and disappointing end to his debut season with the Jets.

Now that he’s healthy enough to play in his 20th NFL season, Rodgers needs to achieve one thing, according to former NFL star quarterback Kurt Warner, to be considered among the all-time greats.

Warner, during a conversation on the Football Today show with Jomboy Media, was discussing the 2024 season with Chris Rose. Warner disregarded Rodgers from the greatest-ever discussion by pointing to his lack of sustained playoff success. He said that before Rodgers is regarded as one of the greatest of all time, he might need to win another Super Bowl ring.

Warner said to Rose, “Aaron is one of the best quarterbacks our league has ever seen. But he doesn’t get into the greatest conversation until he gets to another Super Bowl.”

“Having him switch teams, having him come back at 40 years old off of an Achilles, the New York Jets who have never won, and this could maybe set Aaron in kind of a different category. Similar to what I was able to accomplish with Arizona that elevated me back to a different status than it would have been had I just had great success with St. Louis,” Warner concluded.

Aaron Rodgers Might Become One Of The Few QB’s To Play For More Than One Team In The Super Bowl

Following his 2010 Super Bowl victory with the Packers, Aaron Rodgers endured a string of heartbreaking postseason setbacks, notably four defeats in the NFC Championship Game. Jets supporters will certainly hope the quarterback can make another run to the Super Bowl in the 2024 campaign to meet Warner’s criteria for the GOAT conversation.

In fact, the 40-year-old quarterback might become one of the select few who have started championship games for two separate teams if he can lead the Jets to the Super Bowl. Only four quarterbacks in the history of the NFL have accomplished that feat, and only two of them have won rings with two different clubs.
