NFL Analyst Reveals Ominous Take On Arizona Cardinals’ Kyler Murray

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is one of the most electric players in the NFL. He has incredible dual-threat ability, which has Fantasy Football manager lining up to select him in their drafts.

His rushing skills are one of the things that separate him from his peers in this game. His floor is so much higher because he will always provide some sort of production on the ground.

Also, as Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon shared, he is healthy after being another offseason removed from his ACL injury.

“Physically and mentally, I mean, he looks damn good. He looks damn good,” Gannon said. “You know, ’cause you gotta think, he played really good football for us; he had never taken a snap in this offense until Atlanta (in Week 10), you know what I mean, his first game back. I mean, he had a couple weeks of practice leading up to that, but no offseason program, no training camp. No however many games we played without him. Couple weeks of practice and then, you’re going, ‘Let’s play football.’ So, I think from a mental and physical standpoint, right now where he’s at, to even when he got back last year or even where he finished last year, I think he’s leaps and bounds ahead.”

Better health combined with an improved Cardinals supporting cast should result in better Fantasy Football production in many people’s eyes. Murray now has a bona fide No. 1 wide receiver to work with in Marvin Harrison Jr., the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Michael Wilson is a popular breakout candidate behind him and the team also signed Zay Jones in free agency. He will help once his suspension is over.

Tight end Trey McBride showed incredible chemistry with Murray last season in his eight starts after missing the start of the season continuing his ACL rehab.

Alas, there is one issue with Murray when it comes to the world of Fantasy Football. His current average draft position leaves little room for error, as he is being selected at his ceiling.

“…However, Murray’s rushing numbers fell precipitously the following season, and he hasn’t averaged even 40 rushing yards a game since.

As a low-end QB1, Murray had value. But given the questions surrounding the Arizona Cardinals’ offense in 2024, this is drafting him at his ceiling—and then some,” Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report wrote.

Finding value in Fantasy Football drafts is imperative to fielding as competitive of a team as possible. Murray is a very talented player, but selecting him that high could handcuff your team.

Unless Gannon and the coaching staff open things up and Murray becomes more of a runner, meeting the asking price of a top five quarterback off the board will prove difficult.
