NFL Analyst Reveals Shocking Strategy For Cowboys’ Dak Prescott

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is entering the final year of his deal. As such, many analysts are pulling a lever often reserved for bubble players.

Despite Prescott’s youthful age of 30 with at least half a decade left in the tank, one NFL analyst has called for the quarterback to take his services elsewhere.

During a recent addition of The Carton Show, Craig Carton said that the Cowboys star needs out.

“If I’m Dak, I’m done,” he said.

Of course, it would not be hard to make an argument to explain why Prescott would want to sever ties with Jerry Jones.

Initially, the quarterback was drafted in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. Sure, at some point, credit should be given to Jones for taking any kind of shot on him. However, it also did raise questions about why he didn’t grab the quarterback sooner if he believed in him.

Prescott then had to prove his worth immediately in a pressure-packed 2016 season that saw him inserted into the lineup only because Tony Romo suffered a season-wrecking injury. Had Prescott underperformed in his rookie season like most prospects, most would agree that Romo would have resumed his duties immediately. If that occurred,, Jones may have cut ties with Prescott or otherwise buried him until he was long forgotten.

Dak Prescott’s current contract creates risky retirement-impacting decision

In other words, Prescott had to fight to win over Jones.

Then, at the end of his rookie contract, the quarterback had to get through a tough-as-nails negotiation. The negotiation went so long, in fact, that Jones used a franchise tag on Prescott in the lead-up to his current deal. After half a decade of struggle, the quarterback finally logged a win with his new deal.

On top of his salary, Prescott locked in a no-trade and no-tag clause. This protects him from any more elongated negotiations with the man he spent years attempting to win over. Now, the ball is in his court. At this point, Prescott has plenty of reasons to wish to join another team.

Of course, in moving on from Dallas, the quarterback is risking a seemingly obvious slam dunk in his post-football life.

Troy Aikman and Romo both graduated into top-tier media positions as commentators on the sport. If Prescott leaves, he may make more in the short term but could be risking millions after football ends.

Will Dak Prescott risk his future for a potential benefit now?
