NFL Insider Reveals Disappointing Trade News For Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have gotten off to a 4-2 start this season and sit just one game behind the Philadelphia Eagles for first place in the NFC East.

However, the Cowboys have looked very inconsistent thus far and have yet to really put together an impressive win over a good team.

As a result, many feel that Dallas needs to make a move or two ahead of the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline to truly compete with teams like the San Francisco 49ers and the Eagles in the NFC.

But if Cowboys fans are expecting the club to do something big over the next couple of weeks, they may end up disappointed.

Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer provided an update on Dallas’ deadline situation, and it doesn’t look like the Cowboys are going to make any truly significant moves.

“They did in the past with Amari Cooper a few years ago, right,” Glazer began. “Dallas is always pretty aggressive, especially if they think, ‘We’re on the cusp here, we need something else.’ But just in my conversations this week, when I was asking around, ‘Hey, who are the some of the names we might see?’ There really wasn’t a lot. In the past, you knew, okay, these players whose contracts are in the last year of their deal, these guys might be valuable. We just didn’t see a lot of marquee names.”

To be fair, there probably won’t be too many marquee names available to begin with. Wide receivers like Mike Evans and Davante Adams, both of whom many expected to be up for trade earlier in the season, are almost certainly not on the trade block due to their respective teams’ positioning in the playoff hunt.

Perhaps the Arizona Cardinals could trade Marquise Brown, but there hasn’t even been any speculation of the Cowboys potentially pursuing him.

Whatever the case may be, it’s looking like it might be a relatively quiet deadline for Dallas.
