In a recent article, there was a proposal for the Kansas City Chiefs to make two moves before the NFL Trade Deadline.
The Chiefs were able to keep on rolling in Week 5, as they beat the Minnesota Vikings. Winning games on the road in the NFL is never easy, but the Chiefs were able to come away with a win against a sneaky Vikings team.
In the win, the Chiefs avoided a scare, as Travis Kelce suffered what looked like a pretty bad ankle injury. Fortunately, Kelce came back into the game and was able to score a touchdown after the injury.
In the recent article from ClutchPoints, they named two moves the Chiefs should make.
The first move they stated the Chiefs should make is to trade Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Despite being a former first-round pick, Edwards-Helaire hasn’t lived up to that potential. So far this season, CEH hasn’t had much of a role, as Isiah Pacheco has been more utilized in the running game and Jerrick McKinnon has been more frequently utilized in the passing game.
It’s never great to give up on first-round picks, but it does appear like the time has come for the Chiefs to move on from CEH.
In the other move they need to make, they spoke about the Chiefs trying to acquire Hunter Renfrow from the Las Vegas Raiders. With the Raiders sitting at 2-3, they might not be ready to be complete sellers yet, but Renfrow has been pretty much a non-factor for them this season.
With the Chiefs lacking veteran leadership at the wide receiver position, Renfrow would be a good third-down receiver who could help Mahomes. Since the Chiefs are once again looking like a title contender, they will surely be exploring all options to help the team this season. As of now, getting a wide receiver does appear like it would be helpful.
