With recent reports that the New York Jets are bringing in Trevor Siemian, don’t expect him to save the season.

Much of the talk in the NFL this season has been surrounding the quarterback situation for the New York Jets. At first, there might not have been a team that had more hype surrounding it than the Jets when they brought in Aaron Rodgers.

With Super Bowl hopes, and the Jets finally having their quarterback, things were going well in New York. However, the injury to Rodgers has now resulted in the Jets once again having a lot of problems on their hands at the quarterback position.

When the Jets got Rodgers, the plan was to roll with him for a couple of years and let Zach Wilson sit on the bench and learn. That plan got turned upside down with the injury to Rodgers and now Jets fans are ready to move on from Wilson after another bad three games.

Wilson hasn’t done much for the Jets as the starter this season, as he has yet to total over 200 passing yards in a game. It certainly seems like Wilson’s confidence in himself is shot, as he doesn’t seem comfortable in the pocket and his timing and decision making is way off.

While Wilson is still the starting quarterback for the Jets, the fanbase has been very frustrated by New York’s seeming lack of interest in trying to bring someone in to attempt to salvage the season. Well, the Jets have reportedly brought in a new quarterback, but he might not be one of the players fans were hoping for.

The potential addition of Siemian likely isn’t going to renew hope in the Jets’ season. This will be Siemian’s second stint with the Jets, as he was their starter for a game in 2019 before being hurt against the Cleveland Browns.

While Siemian isn’t going to be the quarterback to lead New York to the Super Bowl, he is likely an upgrade from what we’ve seen from Wilson so far this season and in his career. In his career, Semian has totaled 42 touchdown passes, and 28 interceptions, while completing 58.9 percent of his passes. Ironically, the Jets played and beat Siemian when he started for the Chicago Bears last season.

It will be interesting to see what the franchise’s plan is moving forward this season at the quarterback position. Even though Wilson doesn’t look like a capable NFL quarterback, the franchise continues to give him chances, and don’t expect a change anytime soon at the position. Furthermore, don’t bank on Trevor Siemian being the savior for the Jets this season.
