The Ohio State Buckeyes are always one of the top National Championship contenders to begin every single college football season. It seems that they never run out of talent and are always able to replenish the talent that leaves town.
One of the biggest positions of talent that the Buckeyes have been churning out to the NFL in recent years has been at wide receiver. In the 2024 NFL Draft, Marvin Harrison Jr. was selected with the No. 4 overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals. Now, it appears that Ohio State may very well have a chance to land their next big wide receiver recruit.
According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, the Buckeyes have made the final six list when it comes to 2025 four-star wide receiver Quincy Porter from Bergen Catholic in Oradell, New Jersey.
Ohio State Buckeyes Have A Shot To Land WR Quincy Porter
While the Buckeyes are one of the top six schools that is in the mix to land Porter, there are some other key competitors for his services as well.
Along with Ohio State, Porter is still considering Michigan, Penn State, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Alabama. All of those schools are tough competition. The Buckeyes still have more work to do if they wan to get a commitment from Porter.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have already had quite a bit of success with their 2025 recruiting class. If Porter were to end up committing to the Buckeyes, he would mark their 14th commitment in the class.
At the wide receiver position, Porter would be joining De’Zie Jones in the 2025 class. Both players would give the Buckeyes big-time playmaking weapons to keep their offense firing on all cylinder moving forward.
All of that being said, it will be interesting to see what decision Quincy Porter ends up making. At the very least, the Buckeyes have done enough to keep him interested. He may not opt to join Ohio State, but they have a shot.
That’s all you can ask for at this stage of the recruiting process. Hopefully, things end up falling their way.
Porter would potentially be the next big wide receiver in a long line of success stories at the position coming out of Ohio State, which include Harrison Jr., Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Michael Thomas, and Terry McLaurin, among others.
