Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr. has shared an interesting take on rookie teammate Jayden Daniels.
The Commanders drafted Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft after the Chicago Bears took Caleb Williams.
The former LSU quarterback was a highly-rated prospect expected to develop into a top player in years to come.
But he has not needed any time to adjust to professional football as he is currently in the race for the Most Valuable Player award.
Averaging 224 yards per game with a QB rating of 107.4, seemingly everybody who has watched Daniels has been extremely surprised – except Robinson Jr.

Robinson Jr, who has rushed for 173 yards in two games for the Commanders this season, has not been surprised by Daniels’ impressive performances.
“You know I’ve been with him since the day he got drafted,” he told The Insiders. “I’ve seen how he came in and how he prepared from day one.
“He knew that this time was going to come and he was going to be able to show what he is capable of.
“I’m not even excited for what he’s doing right now. I’m more excited for what’s to come.”
This is bad news for Washington’s NFC East rivals as Daniels already has his team at the top of the division; they better hope he does not improve much going forward.

Robinson Jr. also spoke on the Commanders’ upcoming home games against the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.
The running back is hoping that the fans, who are not used to supporting a playoff-bound team, will be really fired up in the next few weeks.
“Honestly, I’ve been seeing it build up and up as we’ve been growing this thing. I’m just expecting everybody to come out with their hair on fire, get behind us and cheer us on.
“Let us feel that energy so we can keep this thing on a roll. I’m sure these times are rare for this fanbase and this is a time for everybody to make the most of it and come out and get behind us.”
