Where Does Green Bay Packers Star Jordan Love Rank Among Active QBs?

By the start of the 2024 NFL season, Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback Jordan Love will be entering his fifth year as a professional. However, it will only be his second as a full-time starter, which means we basically have only one year from which we can judge him for the time being.

Having said that, Love did have an excellent campaign for the Packers in 2023. Filling the giant shoes of Aaron Rodgers who had carried the burden of Green Bay’s offense for ever so long was never going to be an easy task.

As the 2023 season started, Love and the Packers quickly found themselves in a bit of a hole falling to 2-5 through the first seven games. Yet, Love was able to turn things around after the midway point and managed to guide the team into the playoffs.

By the time the postseason started, the California native had found his groove which eventually resulted in a surprising Wild Card win over the much more favored Dallas Cowboys.

Putting together a superb performance, Love led the Green Bay Packers to a 48-32 victory in which he threw for 272 yards with three touchdowns and had a passer rating of 157.2.

Despite falling to the 49ers in a close encounter in the Divisional Round, Love had proved to everyone that he was already one of the top signal callers in the game today.

This brings us to the question at hand that is, where does Jordan Love rank among active quarterbacks?

Jordan Love Ranking Among Active Quarterbacks

Since Love has played only one full season as a starter, we have a pretty small sample size to base his performances and ranking upon.

However, with what he showed in the past year, Love can very easily fit in the top 15 of the current active quarterbacks in the NFL. There can be a case for having him as high as number 10, but that seems a bit far-fetched at the moment.

If we look at the numbers Love put up in the past season, his 4,179 passing yards were good for number seven in the league, whereas he was second overall in passing touchdowns with 32 while throwing only 11 interceptions. As for passer rating, he hovered around the top 10 with a rating of 96.1.

But apart from that, his gameplay showed his calm and poised nature that not only allowed him to excel after the first half of the season but also enabled him to reinvent his deep ball passing.

Now, as mentioned earlier, Love seems to be a top 15 quarterback at the moment as the list of top 10 quarterbacks who are ahead of him is pretty difficult to argue with.

For instance, there is no real argument for having Love behind the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert, and quite possibly C.J. Stroud as well.

One can also make a case for Jared Goff and Kirk Cousins to be ahead of Love in the quarterback rankings which places the current Green Bay Packers’ QB1 at about number 13 amongst all active quarterbacks in the NFL.
