The Wisconsin Badgers football program has made a significant move on the recruiting trail, extending a scholarship offer to George Lamons Jr., a standout wide receiver from Georgia, for the class of 2027.

Lamons shared the big news on social media on Monday.

Standing tall at 6-foot-4 and weighing 213 pounds, Lamons is a dual-threat athlete excelling as both a wide receiver and an outside linebacker.

Last season, as a freshman at Brooks County High School in Quitman, Georgia, he made a notable impact on the field.

His impressive performance earned him a spot on the Class A Division I All-Region first-team for offense, along with an All-State honorable mention.

Although Lamons is part of the class of 2027, his recruitment process is already gaining momentum, attracting considerable interest from several Division I programs.

Wisconsin’s offer adds to a growing list of prestigious schools battling for his talent.

In addition to the Badgers, Lamons has received scholarship offers from numerous other universities, including Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Liberty, Louisville, Miami, Tennessee, and UCF, according to 247Sports.

With several years left in his high school career, Lamons has plenty of time to further develop his skills and explore his options. As he continues to impress on the field, his list of potential college destinations is likely to expand, making him one of the most watched prospects in the upcoming recruiting cycles.

All the Wisconsin Badgers can do now is wait and hope that they are the program he ends up picking.
